Angiologist and vascular surgeon with more than 30 years' experience. He trained as a specialist at Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol and has worked as a specialist at the same hospital, at Hospital Trueta in Girona and at Hospital Plató, where he was Head of Department from 2001 to 2015, and at the Sagrat Cor and General de Catalunya hospitals, where he headed the Angiology and Vascular Surgery Department from 2015 to 2023.
In 2012 he founded Clínica vascular Barcelona, now Roche Institut Vascular Barcelona. He has focused particularly on the non-invasive treatment of varicose veins, the treatment of pelvic congestion syndrome, the creation of fistulas for haemodialysis and stroke prevention through the treatment of carotid artery disease. As an entrepreneur, he has developed a number of medical devices and in 2016 founded the start-up www.vbdevices.com, culminating in the launch of two devices, CRABCLAMP and VARIXIO. The latter has revolutionised the treatment of varicose veins with sclerotherapy and is currently sold in more than 45 countries worldwide.
Dr Enric Roche
Originally founded in 2012 as a private multidisciplinary centre for the treatment of vascular conditions and other related conditions.
After almost 15 years, having established itself as one of the few centres in Spain that treats all types of varicose veins without surgery, it has become a leading centre in phlebology and in the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic congestion syndrome. Other vascular conditions in the field of arterial disease are also treated.

Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy involves introducing into the diseased veins a chemical agent that irritates the endothelium (the inner wall of the vein that comes into contact with the product) and whose purpose is to seal, collapse or “dry up” the dilated venous channels, causing them, after several sessions, to be reabsorbed and gradually disappear.
The great advantage of this treatment compared with other procedures is that microfoam sclerotherapy can be used for all types of varicose veins, as we can adapt to each individual situation, taking into account the characteristics of each patient.
